The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a one day Hands-on Training on MS-Word and MS-Excel for Non-Teaching, Administrative and Ministerial Staff members on 20- 11-2013 at Computer Lab-3. The training was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. G. Ramesh who started his valuable words by mentioning the importance of getting awareness towards the computers and computing skills. Prof. G. Rajiv Suresh Kumar, Head of Department of CSE welcomed the gathering. Around 30 members were participated.
The first session was started by Mr. G. Deeban Chakkrawarthy, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE. The topics incorporated multiple document views, protecting documents, multiple modes of sharing and distributing documents, illustrations and templates.
The next session was handled by Mr. V. Pradeep, Assistant Professor (SG), Department of CSE. The topics incorporated formatting, dictionary, grammar options, developing original templates and reusable formatting elements, master indexes, tables, authorities, mail-merge operations, forms and macros.
The next session was handled by Mr. K. Sivakumar, Assistant Professor (Sr.G), Department of CSE. The topics incorporated creating workbook, editing text and numerical data, inserting and deleting data rows and columns, math formulas, building charts and graphs.
The final session was handled by Mr. V. Mr. R. Arunkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE. The topics incorporated using pivot table to slice and dice data, analyzing, summarizing, exporting and Excel Services.
The session was terminated with the feedback of the participants. It was awfully revealing and appealing.
