The one-day hands on workshop on ‘DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS’ was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the session started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, then the welcome address was delivered by Dr. G. Rajiv Suresh Kumar, Vice Principal and Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department. A fantabulous talk was given by our honorable Principal Dr. S. Manoharan. Principal emphasized on need of skill development of the students apart from their regular academic activities. Principal advised the students to develop their skill sets to meet the industry requirements. Principal elaborated on the current job opportunities in the field of Data Science and Analytics.

Second Year Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences and Third Year Computer Science and Engineering students attended the workshop on 20th April, 2023 from 9.30 am onwards. The resource persons are Professor Dr. S. Sakthi Vinayagam, Associate Professor / CSE and Mr. K. Gunal, Final year CSE student of JCT College of Engineering and Technology.

The workshop focused on solving real world industry oriented problems in the field of Data Science and Analytics. The python libraries namely, Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib were taught to the students by Professor Dr. S. Sakthi Vinayagam.

Mr. K. Gunal, Final year CSE student explained about the Python libraries such as Seaborn, Scikit-learn, SciPy and Statsmodel. He also discussed the regression models like Linear Regression and Logistic Regression.

The workshop inculcated real-time practical knowledge in Data Science and Analytics to the participants. It will greatly help them to enhance their skill set and future placement opportunities.
