WORKSHOP ON THE TOPIC OF “WHY DESIGN THINKING” ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF TRAINING AND PLACEMENT , JCTCET

The Department of Training and Placement organized a Workshop on 09.02.2018 on the topic of “Why Design Thinking” for final year students of CSE, ECE, EEE and MECH. The workshop was conducted by Mr.Bharath.M, HR-Virtusa and Mr.Shankar.B, Program director, Infomine Software Solutions LLP, Chennai.

Dr. G. Ramesh (Principal) welcomed the chief guests and the gathering. Dr. G. Ramesh (Principal), Prof.V.Jethose (Head-T&P) and Mr.D.Nethajikumar (Placement Officer) felicitated the guest.

Mr.Bharath.M started the session with what is design and briefly explained about the various situations where we can think different and find an innovative solution. And he also explained some situation which leads to new inventions. His speech on the topic made students to understand about designing and make them to think in different way to arrive at a creative solution.

Mr. Shankar.B explained world’s different and most creative design to the students through a video and make them to realize the importance of design thinking. He also explained that how to find the heuristics of the given problem to get a better solution through a role play.

To make the workshop more interactive they have conducted the activity by splitting the students into groups. Students were asked to do activities regarding product design. Through these activities they have learned about planning, creativity, leadership, Time management, team coordination and much more on designing.The speech on career opportunities in industries was given to second year, third year and final year students of all departments. It explored many ideas to students in choosing their work domain, awareness on higher studies and ways to achieve their dream job.
