The session of the ‘Expert Talk’ series, organized by the Computer Science and Engineering Department, witnessed an insightful talk by Dr.Venkadeshan Ramalingam, Ph.D., Faculty in the Department of Information Technology, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Shinas, Sultanate of Oman. The session was titled as: “Smart Device Control and Data logging using IoT Technology”.

The welcome address was given by Dr. G. Rajiv Suresh Kumar, Vice Principal and Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department.

The Department students attended the lecture on 24th February, 2023 at 12.00pm. He discussed the IoT concepts with real time applications, which helped students to connect the IoT tools with real world objects. Also he used various chipsets both in presentation as well as real chipsets. He insisted the importance of microcontrollers and microprocessors.

The boom of IoT will help students to create many projects, applications on their own. Finally he explained the relations between various domains i.e how one domain will be dependent on other domain. Acquiring knowledge about domains will help the students to develop their skill set in various domains also. This makes the students to think innovatively.
